A record 17 boats entered for the 2009 crouch rally, with the bravest dozen crossing the RCYC start line for Sunday’s race. The westerly breeze was gusting F6 and the ebb hurried everyone down to the turning mark at the Crouch entrance. It was then a long beat back to the finish at the Fambridge YC, but crews were rewarded with a great barbecue in the evening and a cooked breakfast to see them on their way on Monday morning. Thanks to the RBYC, the RCYC, Fambridge YC and organisers Trevor Rawlinson, Roy Hart and others for another great Crouch rally.
